Fraud text alerts
At Liberty, we want to make sure that using your debit card is safe and convenient. That’s why we are pleased to announce that starting in December, we’ll send you text alerts as part of our ongoing fraud monitoring program.
With fraud text alerts, we’ll text you anytime our system detects suspicious activity on your debit card. Our text message will include all the details about the suspicious transaction. All you have to do is reply to the text to confirm the transaction – or to tell us that it’s fraudulent.
Fraud Text Alerts FAQ
How do I sign up for fraud text alerts?
If you have previously provided the Bank with your mobile phone number, then you are already enrolled in fraud text alerts. Want to opt in now? Call us at 1.877.305.7070 or stop by your local branch to add a mobile phone number to your account.
Will you send fraud text alerts 24/7?
No. We’ll only message you between 8am and 9pm.
Will I be charged by the Bank for receiving fraud text alerts?
No. You will not be billed for any text messages you receive through this program.
Will fraud text alerts replace other alerts I’ve set up in the past?
No. Other forms of notification such as email will remain enabled or disabled according to your specifications.
How will you identify suspicious purchases?
Every purchase is run through our behavior-based anomaly detection software. Purchases that are unusual for you – in a different city, or for more than you usually spend – may trigger a text fraud alert.
What if I receive a fraud text alert about a legitimate transaction?
Simply reply to the text message to let us know that you made the purchase. You can continue to use your card as usual and we’ll continue monitoring your card for unusual activity.
What if I receive a fraud text alert about a fraudulent transaction?
Simply reply to the text message to let us know that you did not make the purchase. We’ll put your card on hold and share a phone number for you to call to discuss the matter further.
How do I opt out of fraud text alerts?
Call us at 1.877.305.7070, stop by your local branch, or reply to a recent fraud text alert with “STOP” to opt out of future messages.
