Tom credits his upbringing in a small, rural town for his interest in community banking and the unique set of skills he brings to his work as a loan originator at Liberty Bank. Among them are listening to customers, understanding their needs, and building positive partnerships. That entails communicating honestly, keeping customers up to date on the loan process, and collaborating with them when bumps crop up.
Building successful relationships has been important throughout Tom’s financial services career, including in his roles as a commercial lender, when he worked in education and outreach at an association for financial professionals and at a FinTech start-up.
“Working together and problem-solving to achieve customer satisfaction drive me as a professional”, he says. Tom majored in Finance and Economics at Elmhurst University and played basketball there. He still loves the game and enjoys watching both high school and college basketball teams. He calls Elmhurst home and lives with his wife, college-age kids, and a pup named Herb.
